A candidate sits CAT, is shortlisted on the institute's own composite score, and is then called for the Analytical Writing Test and a personal interview. The final offer is made on a score that combines all of it.
| Stage | When |
|---|---|
| CAT registration | As notified by the conducting IIM |
| CAT | As notified by the conducting IIM |
| CAT result | As notified |
| Shortlist for the AWT and interview | After the CAT result |
| Analytical Writing Test and interview | Over the interview window |
| Final offers | After the interviews close |
Dates are set by the conducting IIM and by this institute each cycle, and must be filled from their notices before this page is published.
| Programme | Eligibility |
|---|---|
| PGP and PGP-FABM | A bachelor's degree with at least 50% (45% for SC, ST and PwD), and a valid CAT score |
| PGPX | A bachelor's degree, a valid GMAT or GRE score, and the minimum work experience named in the policy |
| IPM | Class 12 with the minimum aggregate named in the policy, and a valid JIPMAT score |
A candidate in the final year of a bachelor's degree may apply, and holds the offer provisionally until the degree is completed within the deadline the institute sets.

Selection is on a composite score, not on the CAT percentile. The components are the CAT score, the class 10 and class 12 record, the bachelor's degree, work experience, the AWT and the interview, each with a weight the admission policy publishes for the cycle.
There is no common counselling. Each IIM makes its own offers, and a candidate holding offers from several accepts one and pays within its window. A waitlist moves as candidates decline.
A category certificate has to be in the format and within the validity the notice specifies; an out-of-date OBC-NCL certificate is the most common reason an offer is held up.
The institute publishes a minimum CAT percentile for shortlisting rather than a closing rank. The requirement and the selection weights are on the Cutoff page.
Seats are reserved under the central rules: 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC-NCL and 10% for EWS candidates, with a horizontal 5% reservation for PwD candidates across categories.
There is none. Every seat is offered through the process above, and any offer made outside it is not an offer this institute can honour.
Admitted students may apply for need-based financial aid, assessed on family income and assets. The scheme and the application route are on the Scholarships page.
